Domestic Energy Assessments
Air & Sound Testing acts as an agent for qualified Domestic Energy Assessors (DEAs), providing property sellers with an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) as required under the Home Information Pack (HIP) and wider property transaction regulations in England and Wales.
An EPC is required whenever a property is built, sold, or rented. It provides a rating for the property’s energy efficiency (from A to G) and sets out recommended improvements that could reduce energy costs and carbon emissions. EPCs are valid for 10 years.
Who Needs a Domestic EPC?
- All property sellers must provide an EPC to prospective buyers before marketing
- Landlords are required to have a valid EPC for any rental property
- New-build developers must provide an EPC for every completed dwelling
- Properties undergoing material change of use may require a new EPC
